Arthur "Art" Davis (June 14 1905 - May 9 2000) was an animator and a director for Warner Brothers' Termite Terrace cartoon studio. He had his begin as an animator for Charles Mintz's Screen Gems cartoon studio, where he shortly became the director. He late attend Terrytoons for a brief period.
He moved to act at Warner Bros. Animation within 1941 where he was an animator for the Frank Tashlin department, which was assumed in 1946 by Robert McKimson. Late that equivalent season, he became the director himself, replacing Bob Clampett, who moved above to Screen Gems.
Davis directed the total of screaming Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts, with the tone someplace within-between people of Clampett & McKimson. Alas, his department was shut-closure exclusively troika years late around 1949 when Warners was having the budget problem. Art Davis was assigned to Friz Freleng's unit.
Thirteen years late, Davis directed the cartoon for Warners once again while Freleng was occupy by using more projects. This cartoon was "Quackodile Tears", which was as well his survive Warners short; he presently left to function at Walter Lantz as animator. He left Lantz around 1965 to work briefly for Hanna-Barbera Productions. He late moved on top to DePatie-Freleng Enterprises to direct Pink Panther shorts and more cartoon series.
